Mothers like Longer Eyelashes, part 1.

As  many of you know the older you get the thinner and less full your eyelashes become.  My eyes have always  been my pride and joy so I have decided to take some measures against my thinning eyelashes and try out Latisse.   For those of you who dont know Latisse can only be acquired through a prescription so you will have to visit your doctor.  Personally, I went to me local med spa and saw a doctor there.  He was very well educated about Latisse and explained a few things to me. 1.  Latisse has some side effects that I should be aware of before I start using Latisse. 2.  Latisse was originally used to treat glaucoma and they noticed it also made your eyelashes longer! 3.  It has been clinically proven to stimulate eyelash growth as long as you follow...

Mothers Like to Make a Positive Impact

Mothers Like to Make a Positive Impact

I recently heard a story about a college student that went something like this: Dear Mom and Dad, By now, you’ve probably heard that the dorm has burnt down.  I was in the basement smoking pot with a few of my friends.  I’m not sure what happened?! By the way, I won’t be coming home for break this year.  I’m getting married!  Ron is a nice guy.  We’re actually getting married because we’re having a baby. Well, actually, there is no Ron and I’m not having a baby.  I’m not sure what I’d even do with pot and the dorm is still here.  I just wanted to you to have the right perspective when I told you that I flunked chemistry. Love Your Daughter, Erin  ox Did that story get you thinking?!  It’s...

Like a Mama Bird (Part 2)

Over the past month we had the privilege of watching the beginning cycle of a bird’s life.  It was exciting and ultimately left us feeling, well, sober.  Let’s recap. I don’t know about you but does this sounds pretty familiar?  First came the match made in heaven.  “Wow, that’s some hot bird!” she thought.  The church bells ring and Mr. & Mrs. Dove find a cozy nest (right next to some obnoxious neighbors, I must confess).  The Dove’s settle in and decide to start a family.  Their lives are changed forever! Now Mr. Dove leaves each day to hunt for food (aka-work) and Mrs. Dove stays home all day long to take prepare for the arrival of their young ones.  The rain pours, the sun beats down…and the babies are born! It seems only a...

Like a Mama Bird (Part 1)

A TRUE STORY.April 1st- “There’s a bird on our deck, mom!”  This was no April Fools. A bird had made a nest on our deck, inside a flower pot, right below our kitchen window. My first reaction, “Great, now the boys won’t be able to play on the deck.” On further thought, “This is going to be a great object lesson-thanks God!” April 7th-”What’s that, mom?” Wow, each morning we peer through our kitchen window to check out the bird but today we had a little surprise! A small white egg lay underneath the mama bird! April 8th-”Mom, there’s something new!!” Alright, what could be more exciting than a bird with a little egg?  Correction, a bird with TWO little eggs.  Aw! April...

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

Do you remember the good ol’ days?  There was a popular saying that went something like this… Wash on Monday, Iron on Tuesday, Mend on Wednesday, Churn on Thursday, Clean on Friday, Bake on Saturday, Rest on Sunday. Mothers Like Being Prepared with an Emergency Pack

Mothers Like Being Prepared with an Emergency Pack

The other morning (3 am) we had to bring our youngest son to the Hospital.  He was having trouble breathing due to a very bad cold.  On the way over he decided to vomit all over.  (Sorry, that’s the best way I can put it).  After a brief moment of shock, I remembered that we had a packed emergency backpack in the back of our jeep.  We pulled over and I was able to quickly get our little guy changed, clean up the mess and put all of the dirty items into a little plastic bag.  *Super Mom to the rescue*! No matter how old your child is, having an Emergency Pack in your vehicle is something that all mom’s should have!  The items that you place into the bag/backpack should be age appropriate. Wondering what to pack in your emergency bag? Here are a...
